Jeram Perahu is located at Ulu Tembeling, between 5 - 7 hours boat ride from Kuala Tahan on Tembeling River. It is a remote area and beautiful place, rarely visited by human due to its distance. During dry peroid (April-May), the journey become very difficult as you might get off the boat to push it due the low water level.
Tembeling river, the main river in this district is the only way to National Park and the surrounding villages in Ulu Tembeling. The joining of Tembeling and Jelai river forms the Pahang river where it flows right through the Royal Pekan town and then through the South China Sea. The Central district administration in Jerantut town is situated 200km away from Kuantan or 250km away from Kuala Lumpur. This town is the main gate to National Park which is linked by roads and trains. The supervision of rainforest in this district is managed by the Jerantut District Forestry Department and is headed by a District Forestry Officer together with 135 staff that are:-
- 2 Assistant Forestry Officers;
- 4 Forest Rangers;
- 46 Forestry guards;
- 68 Special general staff;
- 8 Drivers &
- 7 Clerical staff.
